From the little Cottage Playhouse all the way up to our Legacy Homestead Playhouse, families all over the U.S. have fallen in love with King Swing’s playhouses. And now, we are so excited to reveal the newest evolution of our modern playhouse swing sets, the a-frame playhouse! We loved it so much that we couldn’t wait to share it with you!
Why We Love It
A-frame cabins first appeared in the 50’s and quickly became iconic in the architectural world. They served as vacation homes that reveled in big, open windows allowing unobstructed views of idyllic natural settings. In recent years, A-frame cabins have become even more popular as people look to escape society and spend time in nature, seeking some respite and calm.
The triangular design makes the a-frame cabin instantly recognizable and lends itself to a compact, efficient use of space and materials. This allows them to be tucked into a wide range of settings, and their rustic, cozy appeal beaconing weary travelers to come in and rest for a bit. Our A-frame playhouse’s simple appearance promises a retreat from urban life.
Our A-frame playhouses capture that same rustic charm and cozy appeal. With their simple yet elegant design, our A-frame playhouses will blend seamlessly into any setting, whether tucked up under your large evergreen tree or nestled up against an urban vinyl fence. Regardless of location, the distinctive, iconic look will promise a retreat, a respite from the hustle and bustle of preschool, homework, and daycare. It will provide that serene sanctuary for creative play and time spent together.
Why Mom and Dad Will Love It
Our new A-frame playhouses are full of family-friendly features! From our big windows to the waterproof roof, there is so much to love both as a child and as a parent!
I Spie with My Little Eye
The big, rectangular windows on the front of our A-frame playhouses allow so much warm, natural light inside the interior playhouse. This creates a cozy environment to play in, but it also allows the parents to keep an eye on the children without needing to open the door and interpret the play with their presence. A simple glance allows you to see what is happening on the inside.
Our A-frame playhouses have two large windows in the front and two small windows in the back. We can customize each A-frame playhouse to have two large windows in the back.
Keep Mud Outside Where It Belongs
The A-frame playhouse is built upon a Trex® decking floor, keeping the play up off the ground and, thus, out of the mud during the rainy months. The front porch is a great place to take off shoes or muddy boots before stepping inside the playhouse. Plus, you can lay down a mat at the front door!
Waterproof Roof
The metal A-frame playhouse roof is waterproof. Elmer, the CEO and owner of King Swings, spent the night in one of our A-frame playhouses with his boys. And, of course, it dumped rain. Elmer reported that he and his sons stayed dry all night long! So go for it! Plan a sleepout inside your A-frame playhouse! This overnighting is a great memory-making experience with your children!
We do need to make one note here that, yes, the roof is waterproof. However, if you add a slide, a bubble tube panel, or other accessories onto the playhouse wall, rain could slide down the walls and slip into the playhouse. If being waterproof is a high priority for you, limit the additional fun things attached to your A-frame playhouse’s walls.
Space for Adventure
The A-frame playhouse measures 13’ left to right, 6’ front to back, and 11’ tall! This means there is plenty of room for your children to make the space their own! For a great summer memory, roll out air mattresses and spend the night inside your own cozy A-frame playhouse! These new A-frame Playhouses have all the room you and your children need to act out their own adventures!
The front porch measures 11’ right to left and 4’ front to back, giving you enough space to add in some furniture of your own! And don’t forget the welcome mat!
A style for any Setting
While some families want happy, bright colors that pop and make the playhouse stand out, others want neutral tones that blend into their backyard’s landscape. This versatile playhouse can do both with quiet, gentle tones or festive, bright colors! Unlike so many gaudy plastic playhouses on the market, our A-frames have that regal, iconic appeal that will complement your backyard!
The color options for the metal roof are green or black. Your vinyl color options are bright white with gray Trex® decking or ivory with brown Trex® decking. The playhouse walls can be white, ivory, green, blue, red, black, or gray!
Look Great on the Gram
These A-frame playhouses will be the perfect backdrop for any post for your socials! From stylized shoots to decorated fun, this playhouse is the perfect canvas on which to spread your ideas and capture them with your camera!
Bring the Playhouse Home!
If your family doesn’t have a handyman in it, an A-frame playhouse could feel out of reach. A simple scroll through Pinterest reveals everyone has A-frame plans to sell, but few will sell, deliver, and install the playhouse for you.
It’s a good thing King Swings does all three! You get the stunning A-frame playhouse without the multiple trips to Home Depot, the ruined evenings, tense “discussions” with the spouse as you struggle with the plans in the gathering dark, or the accidental expansion of your kid’s vocabulary after a hammer invertedly met your thumb.
King Swings has captured the charm and rustic appeal of the A-frame cabin lifestyle with our new A-frame playhouses. You can get this iconic playhouse delivered and installed in your backyard, creating a perfect retreat for your children!
