Swing Sets Cost VS Disney Land Cost

Let’s be honest. Yes, our long-lasting swing sets and playhouses are an investment. It is what happens when you use high-quality material, have a great warranty, expect it to last for your children’s children, employ American labor, and have the swing set delivered and installed.

But how expensive is it really?

Let’s compare it to something a lot of American families already do: a trip to Disney Land in Orlando. How do the costs stack up?

I went on Disney’s website and currently, the cost for 2 adults and 2 children staying in All-Stars Movies Resort with 4-Day tickets (including Park Hopper Plus) is $3,047.52.

And that doesn’t factor in a plane ticket. Let’s assume you are about the center of our service area which is Lancaster, PA. You would fly out of Philly and flights aren’t terrible right now. Let’s say you are not flying Spirit or Frontier because you need some luggage. This adds another $1,200 to your bill.

And that is not factoring in time off work, the cost of food for those days, and the hundreds of other micro expenses.

Example Cost of Disney Land

Tickets and Hotel: $3,047.52
Airline Tickets: $1,200.00
Food: $720.00
Time off Work: $1,500.00
Counseling for Fights with Spouse: $150 x3 sessions
Car Rental/Uber: $150 x4 days
Total: $6,017.52

Of course, the cost could go down significantly depending on your choices but I think that is the fair starting point. $6,000 is a lot to spend on a week-long trip but maybe I think that just because I grew up Mennonite.

Which is Better?

For practically the same money, you can get the Starboard Escape swing set or the Lodge playhouse for about the same cost.

For Disney Land, you get a week filled with good memories and probably a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

With a swing set or playhouse, you get years of good memories and it is right out your backdoor. A swing set or playhouse, on the other hand, is an investment for your backyard that you can go out and enjoy over and over again. You don’t have to find the shoes, make sure everyone went to the bathroom, or stand in never-ending lines.

Ultimately, you know what is best for you and your family and if that is Disney Land, then go and have fun!

But if you are beginning to think that maybe a swing set or playhouse could make sense, then browse our website, check out our standard sets, and reach out to our design team!
